Q&A with Los Angeles Family Law Attorney Sehba S. Arif
Do you have a specialty within family law?
I am the firm’s research/writer. I have an excellent ability to strategize for both short-term and long-term goals. I can think outside the box to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems.
What do your clients care about most?
Each client is unique and has a life perspective that is all their own. My clients care about different things and to recognize and respect each client’s individual needs and priorities is one of the things that makes me an excellent family law attorney
What value do you deliver to clients?
I strive to not only use my over 21 years of family law experience to guide my clients but also my 57 years of extraordinary life experiences. I like to help my clients figure out what they really want out of the dissolution process and what choices will best help them move forward in their lives.
Where did you grow up?
I had a very eclectic upbringing that spanned three countries on two continents. I spent my childhood in Pakistan and Bangladesh and moved to the United States at age 11. I had studied in 11 schools by the time I graduated from Santa Monica High School.
Speak any languages in addition to English?
I’m fluent in Urdu and conversant in Hindi.
Favorite book or movie?
I’m an avid reader, so it’s hard to choose a favorite book. But I continue to love the simplicity and wisdom found in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. For my favorite movie, it’s either “Roman Holiday” or “The Princess Bride” – I am still deciding.
