Joel earned his Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School and holds a double major in Political Science and Sociology, with a minor in Law, Society, and Justice, from the University of Washington.

What motivates you to work in your field?
Family law is uniquely personal, and what drives me is the challenge of being the best advocate I can be for my clients. I am committed to constantly improving so I can deliver the highest level of representation possible.
How can your representation make a difference?
Clients deserve an attorney who serves as a steady anchor and a fierce advocate in the courtroom. My background in family law, civil litigation, and criminal defense has built a versatile courtroom skill set, allowing me to be aggressive and strategic while also remaining calm, collected, and focused so clients always feel secure and informed.
What value do you deliver to clients?
I bring a powerful combination of strong courtroom advocacy and genuine empathy. Family law matters are deeply emotional, and while I provide clients with a supportive and understanding ear, I also maintain a highly competitive, driven mindset when it comes to protecting their interests and pursuing the best possible outcome.
Do you have siblings?
Yes — two younger brothers, They live in my hometown of Seattle, Washington.
What is your favorite book, movie, or TV show?
Book: Stephen Hawking’s The Theory of Everything. Movie: The Matrix. TV show: Lost. YouTube: Independent media content.
Favorite pastime?
My favorite pastime is supporting my hometown Seattle sports teams. Whether I am watching the Seahawks, following the Mariners, or cheering on the University of Washington football and basketball teams, I am a dedicated fan through and through.
What challenges do you enjoy tackling in your field?
I enjoy the competitive nature of litigation. Every case presents a unique challenge, and I welcome the opportunity to outprepare the opposition and secure the best possible results for my clients.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside the office, I love traveling, taking international cruises, exploring local cultures through food tours, and heading outdoors for camping trips. At home, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and caring for my two dogs, Riker and Geordi, and my chinchilla, Ebie.
What inspires you?
My foundation comes from my parents: my father instilled in me a strong work ethic and sense of discipline, and my mother taught me the value of empathy and humanity. Now, my baby daughter inspires me every day, driving my commitment to protect families, stay grounded, and do my part to leave a better world behind.
